My agent told me that Pocket Books was buying novels based on the television show - meaning The Old Show, The Original Show, Classic Trek, The Real Thing. I had been a fan during the shows original run, and I had watched my favorite episodes over and over thanks to the magic of syndication. Which also meant that I yearned for new episodes, and in those days, with no hint that the show would return to television in any form, that was a hopeless yearning. While I was writing this novel, I felt as though I had been given the chance to enjoy a new episode. And enjoy it I did. |
